Sleepy Santa - Hidden Object Online Game

Christmas is on its way! Hurray! I love this time of year and if you do, too, here is a nice online game for you (I've just found it on net). It's called Sleepy Santa. Santa is sleeping and doesn't know that Christmas is near. You should enter his dreams and find objects that don't belong there - so you show him that it's only a dream, not reality! Suitable for elementary and upper elementary students. And, of course, for everyone else :-) Have fun!

"Hello! Who are you?" animation

This is a short animation about two teddy bears meeting for the first time. They tell each other about themselves - name, age and their families. The target vocabulary is extremely easy. After watching it, you can practise the same questions and answers with your students and ask them to tell what they remember about Sam and Betty. Here is an online exercise with the animation.

ABC flashcards and game ideas

Here are 4 sets with the cards (with just images, capital letters, small letters and the full set). The ful set contains some cards from the other ones just to save paper. I have used the word "Ukraine" to represent the letter U, but you can easily edit that ( just choose the "Ungroup" option). Print, cut and laminate the cards if you want them to last longer. There are lots of great ideas for learning  the alphabet on Activity Village website.

Snow White and Past Simple

There are 3 different tasks in the worksheet. First students read the fairy tale and fill in missing words (it's a follow up activity for my online exercise where they can watch the video: Snow White Video Activity ). After that students are given 24 past simple sentences about Snow White and they are to make questions to the underlined parts of the sentences, match them with the pictures and, finally, make negative sentences.
P.S.: The video has disappeared from You Tube , but students can still watch it here.

Pronouns boardgame

Students roll a die and name the pronoun they land on. If it's a picture, they say which pronoun it represents and find it on the board. If it's a word, they read it and show the corresponding picture. The pictures where two people (or animals) are hugging each other mean "WE". There can be many other ways to use the game - just follow your imagination.

Articles Board Game

This is a board game for elementary students to practise the articles. You'll need a die and counters to play it. Students roll the die and name the article that should be in the sentence they land on. Sometimes no article is needed. If the answer is wrong they move one space backwards. You can invent your own rules :-)

So, here we go!!!

Today is the "birthday" of Merry English To You! and I am happy to share with you some of the activities I have gathered so far. I'm starting with forms 1 and 2 and planning to add more on a regular basis. The division into forms is done according to the school curriculum in Ukraine, but I'm sure that doesn't matter much. Right now there are only on-line activities. Printable worksheets and boardgames will be added soon. So, choose your level and go ahead!
